Abstract
The authors describe the design and implementation of a two-dimensional adaptive blind equalizer for high-speed multilevel data transmission. The whole hardware of the blind equalizer consists of two printed circuit boards, one of which is used for the main part of the equalizer and the other for the automatic gain controllers and the analog-to-digital and the digital-to-analog converters. The area per board is about 400 cm2. Owing to the use of the error control function and the TMS320C25 and DSP56200 digital processors, the equalizer possesses some good properties such as flexibility, versatility, small size, low cost, etc. The test results demonstrate excellent equalizer performance
