Abstract :
Since the 1980s, most large turbogenerators have usually used a rotating exciter system. Compared with static thyristor exciter systems, they have many advantages except for one shortcoming: they do not allow the direct monitoring of the rotor current of the rotating exciter system. This is not good for the safe running of turbogenerators. In practice, it is very important and necessary to monitor the value of rotor current online for running safety and other reasons. In this paper, the authors apply the important method of error theory-least square algorithm to build the best mathematical model of the no-load property curve of a turbogenerator rotating exciter system. They explain the calculation method and the steps in building a mathematical model of the no-load property curve carefully and apply it into the research and manufacture of a rotor current measuring instrument for the rotating exciter systems of turbogenerators
