Title :
Recharge of valve-regulated batteries at elevated temperatures
Author_Institution :

Abstract :
The valve-regulated Pb-acid (VRLA) battery is the most important battery type used in telecommunication applications today. Many customers that fear that VRLA batteries may be damaged because of high recharge currents have raised questions about dangers with high recharge currents. As a supplier of power systems this question is often raised by the authors´ customers. They detail how they are telling them that it poses no risk to recharge batteries at the float voltage level. Most battery suppliers accept this view and it is found expressly stated in the manuals.
