Abstract
A unified approach is described for enhancing the use of digital-signal-processing (DSP) workstations for student projects. These student projects are a required part of course objectives for senior and graduate courses in digital signal processing. The subject matter covered in these courses includes: the design of digital filters, DFT and FFT analysis of signals, spectrum analysis, and estimation. Applications include speech, acoustic, audio, biomedical, and others. The authors describe hardware, software tools, and six typical student projects
