Abstract
This paper proposes a directional pattern control method that utilizes the direction of arrival (DOA) of an ultrasonic wave to control the base station of a communications system. Two kinds of waveforms are proposed for high resolution DOA estimation: A waveform with a raised cosine spectrum and a waveform with a binominal distribution spectrum. The simulation results show that the waveform with the binominal distribution spectrum is more appropriate for application to the Space Division Multiple Access system.
