Abstract
All telecom power equipment placed in the European market has to comply with the requirements of EN 300 386-2 standard latest on October 1, 2001. EN 300 386-2 that covers both emission and immunity requirements will become a common EMC requirement basis for most telecom power manufacturers worldwide. The article gives a short summary of EMC requirements of today and what impact EN 300 386-2 will have on the telecom power world. Different aspects of EN 300 386-2 requirement levels and the standard interpretation are discussed. The article describes how EN 300 386-2 has been implemented in our new ACTURA power system and shows the test results from EMC verification.
