Abstract :
The hospital-wide PACS has been used for routine work in Tokyo Hitachi Hospital since 1991. A 100 Mbps optical fiber network, which is coupled with CT, MR, DR, CR and eleven image workstations, is distributed in wards, clinics, the radiology department and a conference room. The system has been accepted, though not entirely free from complaints by most physicians of the hospital. A system in a small hospital can prove that PACS is really useful and important for both image diagnosis and management
