Abstract :
The mean and variance of the asymptotic asymptotic mutual information (with any given input covariance matrix) of the separately-correlated MIMO Rician fading channel are derived as functions of two scalar parameters, which are solutions to of a polynomial equation system. The derivation follows the so-called replica method, widely used in theoretical physics and more recently in communication systems. A rigorous proof of the analytic continuation from the positive integer to the positive real domain is given to support the application of the replica method and replica symmetry is assumed for the choice of the integration saddlepoint. Numerical results are provided to illustrate the accuracy of the analytical method in several settings.
