Abstract
Multi-body dynamic modeling, simulation and analysis are investigated for perching maneuvers of a kind of morphing aircraft. The effective morphing aircraft configuration for perching maneuvers is discussed. Multi-body dynamic model is established for the longitudinal dynamics of morphing aircraft performing a perching maneuver. The effects of morphing structures on enhancing perching performance are analyzed by using theoretical analysis and trim calculation. The longitudinal motion of morphing aircraft in perching maneuver is simulated. The comparison of various simulation results verifies the capability of morphing structures to enhance perching performance.
