Abstract
A mixed traffic microscopic simulation system at signalized intersection was developed. The function and the model structure of the simulation system were introduced. Vehicle-bicycle conflict model was the key part of this system. In order to describe the decision-making behavior of motor vehicle crossing the bicycle flow at intersection, a crossing decision-making model based on BP neural network was proposed. An intersection in Beijing was investigated, and the field data was used to validate the microscopic traffic simulation system at signalized intersection. The error between observed data and simulation data was about 10%, which showed that the microscopic traffic simulation system could describe the vehicles operation at signalized intersection as well as complex interaction between vehicles and other traffics fairly good.
