Abstract
Radar technology for level measurement has become more and more important in recent years. Three years ago this technology was still expensive and sometimes ineffective for industrial use. The industry relied on measurement techniques such as pressure sensors or capacitive probes for level control. Now, new 2-wire radar gauges have been developed that are capable of directly replacing these other sensors, in most applications, with a non-contact device. They have the advantage of being almost unaffected by process conditions such as pressure, temperature and product properties.
