Abstract :
For various nanocrystal-carbon nanotube (CNTs) hybrid structures, their distinctive optical and electrical properties were investigated using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy. The deposition of platinum (Pt), copper sulfide (Cu2S), and tin oxide (SnO2) nanocrystals on the CNTs reduced the power absorption, and electrical conductivities. Such effect is more significant in the double-walled CNTs, compared to the multi-walled CNTs. This could be mainly due to the increased defect sites of the graphitic layers of CNTs.
