Abstract :
This work presents a comparative study of some well established digital filtering techniques for the extraction of fundamental components (60 Hz) from highly corrupt voltage and current waveforms. This study is vital for the development of algorithms applied to the digital protection of power transmission lines. The studied techniques are based on the discrete Fourier transform, Walsh functions as well as Kalman filtering
