Abstract
The future of wireless body area networks (WBAN) in medical applications is promising. A typical WBAN consists of wearable body sensor units (BSU) and a body control unit (BCU). The BCU can receive the signal from the BSUs and relay data regarding impending emergencies. In this paper, the wave propagation along and around the human body are studied, representing line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight, respectively. A simplified human phantom model is also simulated to validate measurements.
