Abstract :
Summary form only given. Erbium doped waveguide amplifiers (EDWAs) became attractive choices in variety of network´s applications. Developments in single amplifiers lead to integrated EDWA arrays that offer significantly lower cost per amplifier. Recent progress in this exciting field will be reviewed.
