Abstract
In this contribution, it is proposed a novel mechanism to control the leakage rate of the second higher-order mode of the microstrip line. Using this original technique, one can synthesize a given illumination to reduce the sidelobes level of the MLWA. Leaky-mode results are presented to illustrate the theory, and a cosine tapered MLWA is designed to check the ability to reduce the sidelobes level below -20dB.
