Abstract :
We describe an infinitely thin U-shaped conductor which scatters unpolarized, coherent, electromagnetic radiation isotropically in power. The shape of this scatterer is defined and its relevant electrical characteristics such as current distribution, radiation pattern and Q-factor, are derived. We then examine the response of this scatterer to an incident unpolarized radiation. In addition, we study the effect of finite conductivity on the behaviour of the scatterer.
