Abstract :
In this paper, a fast real-time prediction and control scheme for the transient stabilisation of multimachine power systems is proposed. Using GPS, one can synchronously measure the electromagnetic power, power angle and angular speed of generators periodically in the steady-state operating condition. As soon as a disturbance disappears, the fast real-time prediction for transient stability is processed. The control scheme for transient stabilisation is also proposed. The method in this paper is very simple and independent of both the numbers of nodes in the power system and the load characteristic. It does not need any knowledge of the power network configuration and parameters and can be used online as an operator tool
