Abstract
A dispersion compensating fibre with very high negative dispersion and low attenuation resulting in a record high figure of merit of 459 ps/(nm dB) has been developed. Due to the curvature of the dispersion a low residual dispersion of ±0.022 ps/(nm km) has been measured in a link with 100 km NZDF.
