Abstract :
Based on the consideration of multiple load profiles and economic use of capacitors and the introduction of mathematical expectation, this paper proposes the concept of expected load model and the concept of energy flow. On the basis of the above concepts, this paper presents a new algorithm-expected model-based reactive moment method for optimal capacitor placement on a radial distribution network. Analytical and computational results indicate that capacitors placed by the expected model can run at multiple load profiles and have obvious effect on both the reduction of the real power losses and the improvement of voltage profile for various load levels
