Abstract :
This paper presents a design and hardware implementation of a digital control section for chipless RFID tag readers. As the processing device a mid range microcontroller has been used. The control section is designed with a UWB chipless tag reader operating in the frequency range of 4.0 - 6.0 GHz. The designed digital controller has the capability of using with tags having a different number of bits and 4 - bit and 9 - bit tags have been successfully tested. This digital control system is suitable for readers mounted on conveyor belt systems.
