Abstract :
A systematic approach to generate a 2-phase switched capacitor DC-DC converter with a given integer conversion ratio using minimum number of capacitors is proposed. In this method the required DC-DC conversion ratio is obtained using ´back tracking´ the voltage conversion ratio series obtained from the Makowski charge pump circuit. It reduces the average searching time when compared to other methods in the literature. We further discussed the switching loss of the switched capacitor circuit. A design example is presented to illustrate the proposed design procedure.
