Abstract
This paper describes an application of the predictor-corrector interior point method to preventive/corrective control for power system voltage stability. A novel model for preventive/corrective control aimed to minimize the control cost is proposed. After preventive/corrective control, not only should the power system operation point be in the voltage secure area, but the expected load margin should be guaranteed strictly. The approach proposed has been successfully tested on an IEEE 118 bus system
