  • Abstract
E-government has the typical characteristic of public goods, such as indivisibility, non-rivalry and non-exclusivity, which is regarded as rising mixed public goods. The performance of e-government is correlative to the validity of e-government, while the validity is derived from the optimization of supply. The paper puts forward the optimization of supply of public goods has an important effect on the performance of e-government based on the point of view of public goods. It analyzes the process of the private provision of public goods in e-government, in which e-government reaches the practical optimization at the Nash equilibrium. It points out that to reduce the self-interest on the private provision of public goods is the available way to the Pareto optimality state, which is means for effective e-government. The paper presents the approach to improve e-government based on public goods.
