Abstract :
A printed chip type antenna using monopole spiral slot structures with system ground for digital video broadcasting-handheld (DVB-H) signal reception in the UHF band is proposed. By utilizing the eight quarter-wavelength spiral slot l a radiator in configuration. In this case, the occupied area of the monopole slot chip antenna on the system circuit board can be further reduced. Antenna has a compact size of 20 Ã 20 Ã 0.8mm3. It size is minimized so that it can be easily installed to mobile handset. The simulated and measured results show that the impedance bandwidth covers the DVT (470~860 MHz) band with return loss |S11| than 5. The antenna can get omnidirectional radiation pattern in the whole frequency band. The measurement result is agree with simulation.
