Abstract :
We study microwave spectra for a one-dimensional magneto-photonic crystal (MPC) with tri-layer cell (vacuum/ yttrium iron garnet (YIG) / quartz) interfaced with metallic structures (thin metallic slab or thin wire structure (TWS)). We show, non-propagating surface mode (so-called ldquomicrowave Tamm staterdquo) arises at interface between MPC and TWS as well as for metallic slab. These states result in a sharp peak in the transmission and reflection spectra of the system under study.
