  • Abstract
This paper presents the fundamentals of measuring residual stress in ferromagnetic material based on the changes of magnetism and designs a new probe to measure it by using this fundamental. In particular, the probe aims at overcoming the limitations of the traditional probes which are merely applicable to a certain material and can not eliminate the disturbance of environment magnetic field. The probe paper refers to variable width of measurement end, which is fit for different material. Two groups of induction coils in probe are connected in series-opposing to eliminate the disturbance. The experiment of the probe revealed the relationship between the internal stress component suffered and the induced voltage.
