Abstract :
This paper presents some of the activities currently performed within the European Union 7th Framework Programme project "A holistic approach towards the development of the first responder of the future". It is a suite of real-time data-centric technologies that will provide enhanced information and communication support to first responders that act during normal and abnormal events. The paper demonstrates the way virtual networks and software routers tools can be appropriate to design and evaluate the telecommunication infrastructure.
