GEC-Marconi Materials Technology Limited (GMMTL) is involved in the research and development, design and manufacture of semiconductor devices, modules and subsystems. This paper centres on the gallium arsenide (GaAs) monolithic microwave integrated circuit activity within GMMT, which is internationally recognised for its innovative R and D and design functions. The work described outlines the techniques used to achieve world class manufacturing status for the company´s products and processes
