Abstract
In this paper, propagation characteristics of post array waveguides were measured by using microwave scale model. From phase measurement along with the waveguide by inserting a probe, phase as a function of propagation distance could be evaluated. The propagation characteristics were compared with numerical simulation by CIP method, to show good agreement for typical frequencies. From comparison of measured phase constant for waveguide with metallic cylinders and that of conventional rectangular metallic waveguide, it was found that the propagation constant of metallic post array waveguide can be predictable by analogy of conventional rectangular metallic waveguide.
