Abstract
An essential part of any vibration test equipment is the controller which is used to control the operation and behaviour of the test platform in a predefined manner. The choice of the control technique is highly dependent on the system model and using various high level tools it is shown that adaptive inverse control is a suitable control technique in a nonlinear application such as vibration testing. The focus of this paper is on the design and development of controllers through the Teaching Company Scheme and the impact of this development on Ling Dynamic Systems (LDS), a leading manufacturer in the vibration test industry
