Abstract
This paper presents a concrete approach to design a structured controller for a steam generator of a power plant while taking into account industrial specifications like, for example, the set-time of a step response or robustness margins. This approach combines the minimization of the H∞ norm of the closed-loop system and genetic algorithm. It is flexible enough to design control laws of any structure as soon as an initial controller is known.
