Abstract :
In this paper, a fuzzy control method is introduced for Buck converter and a Proportional-Differential (PD) like fuzzy controller is designed. The nonlinear characteristics of the PD like fuzzy controller in small-signal range are analyzed. The analysis shows that the PD like fuzzy controller is equivalent to a modified PD controller which provides an additional correction action. The PD like fuzzy controller can provide faster correction than the conventional PD controller. Therefore, the dynamic performance of the closed loop system could be improved. The simulation under fuzzy control is compared with the simulation under Voltage Mode Control, using Matlab/Simulink. The simulation results demonstrate that fuzzy control has superior performance as compared with Voltage Mode Control.
