Abstract :
This paper investigates the effect of dc bias conditions on ferrite core losses. A technique for measuring core losses under dc bias conditions and its circuitry are also described. Measured core losses of MMG F49 material under dc bias conditions are presented to show that the core losses increase significantly under dc bias conditions. Results are also presented showing the effect of temperature and core geometry on core losses.
