  • Abstract
    In this paper, a voltage-mode grid-connected power converter (VGPC) with the functions of photovoltaic generation and power quality compensation is proposed. The proposed VGPC can convert the DC power generated by the solar cell array into an AC power and inject into the utility for supplying power to the local load. Besides, the proposed VGPC can also improve the power quality such as: filtering harmonic currents of the local load, suppressing voltage dip and spike of the utility. The proposed VGPC has the advantages of simple control, rapid transient response and multiple functions. A prototype is developed and tested to verify the performance of the proposed VGPC. The experimental results show that the performance of the proposed VGPC is as expected.
