Abstract :
Fluorescent lamps are the most popular artificial light source for plantlet cultivation. However, the spectrum of fluorescent lamps is greatly different from solar spectrum. This paper combined fluorescent lamps with blue LEDs and red LEDs, in order to carry out the experiments on Anoectochilus Formosanus Hayata. We observed and recorded the data of Anoectochilus Formosanus Hayata´s living in order that we look for the most suitable condition for this plant and increase the production. By the way, we collect this data by changing the different wavelength and illumination of the three light sources. This paper applies orthogonal arrays as a way to design how much intensity of the artificial-lighting sources is fit for Anoectochilus Formosanus Hayata. In the experiments, the following are set separately: fluorescent lamp in 1200 Lux, 1600 Lux and 2000 Lux, the blue LED in 4 W, 7 W and 10 W, and the red LED in the same conditions of the blue one. We find Anoectochilus Formosanus Hayata grows best under the fluorescent lamp in 1600 Lux, blue LED with 10 W and red LED with 7 W. The optimum artificial-lighting source combination decreases the growing time from six months to three months.
