The production-inventory model with time-dependent demand and time-limited free back-orders

Studies a production-inventory model with time-limited free back-orders by assuming time-dependent demand and finite replenishment rate. An efficient iterative procedure is proposed to provide the optimal production and inventory schedule with the help of a computer. Models with linear trend in demand are analyzed as special cases. Numerical examples are included to illustrate the proposed solution procedure. The results of these examples provide theoretical evidence for the inventory system to make management decisions
