Abstract
In this paper a modelling tool based on controlled speed continuous Petri nets (CSCPNs) is introduced. This tool is a generalization of continuous Petri nets. It may be useful, to model not only production systems but also interactions existing between the control level and the plant. An extension of this model to timed controlled speed continuous Petri nets is defined so as to deal with the time needed for processing and transport in the plant. Possibilities for using this tool in control of discrete event systems are discussed
