Abstract
The coupling properties of an enclosure with apertures illuminated by a high power microwave (HPM) are simulated and analyzed with the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. The variations of coupling electronic field (EC) with positions are investigated, and comparisons among different arrangements and spacing of apertures are made. The resonance effect is also studied. Results from the modeling are shown to agree well with published measurements. Correspondingly, certain applications are provided for shielding enclosures in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
