  • Abstract
    The driving systems of electric vehicles (EV) can roughly be divided into synchronous motor type and induction motor type. The synchronous motor type is mainly utilized in Japan because of its good efficiency. In European countries, the driving systems are largely implemented by use of low-cost and powerful induction motor type. In this paper we show a driving system of induction machine that can be maintained freely and is superior in terms of environmental factors. The development of small capacity types of EV, such as an electric assist type bicycle and electric wheelchair, is introduced.
