Abstract :
The distribution of surface metal magnetic memory (MMM) signals on flat-plate specimens of ferromagnetic materials has been investigated for three types of Q235, 45 steel and T10. Defects were made on the latter two materials in order to obtain concerned signals using magnetic memory sensor at different state of plastic deformation. Stress was calculated using finite element method under plastic strain condition. According to the theory of magnetic materials and magnetic memory effect, a strong correlation was found between the signals and stress.
