Abstract :
Ultra-precision machining based on single-point diamond turning and ultra-precision diamond grinding enables economic production of optical, mechanical and electronic components or products with form accuracy and surface roughness in micrometre and nanometre ranges respectively. Associated form and surface roughness measurement technology also plays an important role in evaluating the quality of the ultra-precision machined surfaces. In Hong Kong, the ultra-precision machining centre was established to assist local industry with a full range of facilities and technical services for the rapid development and testing of high-quality ultra-precision products
