  • Abstract
    Complex diffusion has been applied to image denoising and enhancement. However, whether it is suitable for image segmentation or not is needed to further study. In this paper complex diffusion is combined with level set method without re-initiation and then complex diffusion based level set method is proposed. And the new algorithm is applied to insect image segmentation. Experimental results showed that the new algorithm can obtain good image segmentation results. Moreover it is verified that complex diffusion can be used for edge detector and then for image segmentation successfully.
