Abstract
This paper describes a pinch grip sensor prototype for measuring fingertip force grasping in biomedical application. The force sensor element is based on the Hall Effect devices. The sensing element was mounted on a pinch grip instrument and the output signal issued from the sensor is carried out to a low cost instrumentation amplifier. After analog processing and filtering, the signal is sampled and digitalized by commercial data acquisition card interfaced to a PC. First calibration was performed with commercial Force Gauge (Lutron FG-5000A) instrument and an experimental test has been carried out for the fingertip force grasping. Experimental results have been carried out for fingertips force grasping which highlight the easiness realization force sensor prototype.
