Abstract :
Some aspects of using DCS to implement propylene/propane splitter advanced control are considered, including enthalpic control of column reboiler, multivariable control of top product quality and bottom product quality, fuzzy supervisory control of process load, etc. Industrial application results show that advanced control can increase the splitter tower stability, improve the distillate product quality and increase recovery of distillate product while reducing energy consumption
