Abstract
The main areas of development of new soft magnetic materials are naturally directed at improving properties such as permeability or losses. There are, however, increasing demands by designers of electrical machines for materials with improved strength to withstand the forces associated with the use of larger rotors or very high rotation speeds. This paper reviews materials which have been specially developed to meet these design requirements
