Abstract :
The paper proposes an improved second-order power control (ISOPC) algorithm for code division multiple access (CDMA) systems. The ISOPC uses current and previous power levels for power updates and it has fast convergence speed. Convergence analysis is performed and the condition of ISOPC convergence is provided for feasible systems. The ISOPC algorithm is then simulated in a DS-CDMA system. The results indicate that the new algorithm has faster convergence speed compared to the SOPC algorithm.
