Abstract
A novel method of moving object detection from avideo sequence is proposed. Due to the temporal correlation of background in video sequences, we first formulate moving object detection as a goodness of fit testing problem, and then apply the Kolmogorov test, one of goodness of fit tests, to detect the moving object based on the Gaussian mixture model of background. Experimental results clearly show that the proposed algorithm has outstanding detection accuracy compared with some classical algorithms.
