Abstract

The development of an expert data acquisition system EX-IDAS for industrial applications is the central theme of the paper. The system enhances the functional requirements of the conventional data acquisition system. It also provides the control engineer with higher layer of knowledge of the industrial process. Relevant technical issues for representing and processing the appropriate knowledge are addressed. A temperature control process is interfaced with EX-IDAS to evaluate the performance and demonstrate the potential of the developed system
