Abstract
One-dimensional, non-isothermal gas flow model was adopted to simulate the transients in high-pressure gas transmission pipelines. The conservative equations based on the equation of state of BWRS, including mass, momentum and energy laws, were solved with the method of characteristics. Meanwhile, laboratory experiments with the focus on effect of valve operation on pipeline parameters were carried out. Both results of numerical simulation and experiment suggested that quick operation of valve could arouse significant fluctuation of flow rate and pressure of flow within the pipeline.
